Guzzlefish.app is an alpha physical-media catalog and collection service. This policy explains the information the application handles and the choices available to you.
Information You Provide
When you create an account, Guzzlefish stores account information such as your email address, username or display name, password authentication data, email verification status, sessions, and account activity needed to operate the service. Passwords are stored as hashes, not plain text.
If you build a profile, Guzzlefish may store profile details such as avatar images, biography text, location text, Top 5 selections, showcase entries, privacy/discovery settings, and collection visibility preferences.
Collection records, wishlist items, copy status, notes, locations, purchase details, and other collection-management information are stored so the app can organize your shelf. Your visibility settings control whether public collection data is shown to other visitors.
Messaging and social features may store conversations, follow or friend relationships, requests, and message metadata needed to deliver those features.
Catalog Contributions
Guzzlefish stores release metadata, corrections, community submissions, accepted claims, source references, edit history, and linked or uploaded artwork so the shared catalog can be improved and audited over time.
Technical Information
The app uses cookies for authentication sessions. Servers may process technical information such as IP address, browser information, request paths, error logs, and timestamps for security, debugging, rate limiting, abuse prevention, and operation of the service.
External Services
When you search, scan, add, or enrich a release, Guzzlefish may query third-party metadata, artwork, product-identity, catalog, or research providers using information such as a title, UPC/barcode, format, or release details. Provider results are treated as evidence that may require confirmation, not as automatic authority over a Guzzlefish catalog record.
Verification and account emails may be sent through configured SMTP or Amazon SES-style email delivery. Production hosting may use cloud infrastructure configured by the operator.
What Guzzlefish Does Not Do
We do not sell personal information. The application should not expose email addresses, password hashes, verification tokens, session identifiers, or environment configuration in public pages or search results.
Your Choices
You can edit profile information, update email verification details where supported, control collector-search discoverability, choose collection visibility, export your collection, and sign out from the application. Some shared catalog contributions may remain in the catalog or audit history so release records can remain understandable.
Retention and Security
Guzzlefish keeps information as needed to provide accounts, collection management, catalog history, and abuse prevention. No web service can guarantee absolute security, but the application uses reasonable safeguards such as authenticated sessions, email verification, server-side authorization checks, and restricted handling of sensitive account data.
Children
Guzzlefish is intended for collectors and alpha testers who can responsibly manage an account. It is not directed to young children.
Updates and Contact
This policy may be updated as Guzzlefish changes. For privacy questions or account requests, contact Guzzlefish at guzzlefish.app@gmail.com.
